Behind the Mask

From the beginning one of the greatest tragedies in life, especially in light of the reality of our own flaws, is mankind's natural tendency to make judgements about life based on appearances.

Didn't Eve make judgments based on the her perception"appearance" of the forbidden fruit, that it was "pleasant to the eyes and a tree to be desired to make one wise"?

How did that work out for mankind?

Today mankind, generally speaking, continues to make that same error over and over again. That is to continue to rely on it's own perceptions, understanding, and wisdom to render what they perceive to be righteous judgments!

The words that I speak to you they are spirit and they are life! (John 6:63)

Before leaving this world our Lord told his disciples that He still had MANY things to tell them that they could not bear at that time and He continued to explain how they were going to receive that knowledge. 

Our Lord proclaimed that it would be "the Spirit of truth" who would come to guide them (us) and teach them (us) all things (14:26), and most important of all that the spirit would not speak of himself but of whatsoever He HEARS He shall speak, just as Jesus only spoke the things He heard the Father speak unto Him and just as we are to speak what we hear Holy Spirit speak.
