If It's Not Impossible It's Possible

ree

When I was an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and had to present a patient to ER (Emergency Room) personnel, we did so, in part, by eliminating or excluding through examination (patient assessment) one or more diagnostic possibilities from the list of causes of a patient's presenting signs and symptoms. (Ruling Out)

One of the first things that I learned in the EMS, both in theory and in practice, was that when dealing with an medical emergency situation you must do so completely rationally and objectively. Something that I have done naturally, for better or worse, since I was a child.

So this idea of separating the possible from the impossible is the very first thought that comes to my mind when trying to understand something. If I can rule something out it is completely taken out of the equation so that it does not become a distraction during the rest of my examination.

In today's world I believe that most people, especially those who tend to lean left socio politically, are thinking, acting, and reacting out of pure emotion (irrationally), and are subsequently incapable of making rational decisions. (just my opinion). In the case of many so called Trumpers for example, we can see a type of idle worship which precludes some from receiving any negative truths about him or even suspicions of him.

The same can be said of those who voted for Joe Biden (many of whom are having serious buyers remorse a month into his presidency I might add), or of those who supported Obama, or Bush during their presidency's.

The point here is to keep an open mind to all things because NONE OF US have cornered the market on the whole truth! (Yet)

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part but when that which is perfect is come then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child I spake as a child I understood as a child I thought as a child: but when I became a man I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. (1Co 13:9-12) Today there is mistrust in the government, in the media, in the banks, in the stability of our economy in general, in the medical profession and sadly in each other as people. Handled rationally however this can be a good thing because far too many people simply can't be trusted these days. For many years the mantra in this country was, "that will never happen in America". We arrogantly disbelieved even the possibility of losing our constitution, our republic, and even our nation, to anyone under any conditions. But we are more than half way there. We are a deeply divided nation and if America was my patient I'd present it as being in critical condition and I'd rule out it's ability to stand! God Bless and Heal our Nation!
